This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 23, 2007:
It's trite, but it's Mom. After all, moms are our very first teachers, and usually the most influential (for better or for worse). I wouldn't love and appreciate myself like I do if she hadn't loved and appreciated me first!
In addition to the higher lessons (don't judge people) and the more mundane (don't wear silver and gold jewelry together), I've also learned what I don't want to be through witnessing her mistakes, not that I don't make some of them anyway.
Have I thanked her recently? Not in so many words, but we're close friends and that's more than I can say for many mother/daughter dyads I know.
